It is said that AMD and Qualcomm will become the first customers of Samsung 3nm technology
According to a report by foreign media wccftech, AMD and Qualcomm may become the first customers of Samsung's 3nm chip manufacturing process.
It is reported that the close relationship between TSMC and Cupertino technology giant apple in California makes amd consider choosing Samsung as its 3-nm order. In addition to AMD, it is said that Qualcomm is also interested in Samsung's 3-nanometer chip process node. The transistor design used by the company is different from that of its Korean counterparts.
At present, Samsung has not disclosed any information about the first batch of customers of 3nm chip manufacturing process.
Previously, Samsung has said that it has ensured a stable yield of 3nm process, and plans to start mass production and OEM of chips using 3nm process in June next year. According to official disclosure, Samsung Electronics's 3nm process will adopt full surround gate transistor (GAA) technology, with 50% improvement in efficiency and 50% reduction in energy consumption compared with 5nm process.
