China's semiconductor industry is growing in double digits. Zhang Ruihua, China Semiconductor analyst at trendforce, pointed out that from the perspective of China's semiconductor industrial structure, the proportion of China's IC design industry surpassed the sealing and testing industry for the first time in 2016. In the next two years, driven by emerging applications such as Internet of things, fingerprint identification, dual cameras, AMOLED and face recognition led by AI and 5g, it is estimated that the proportion of IC design industry will continue to grow to 38.8% in 2018, Firmly in the first position.
Looking at China's IC manufacturing industry, there are 22 12 inch wafer factories in China, including 11 under construction; There are 18 8-inch wafer factories and 5 under construction. It is estimated that more new factories will enter the mass production stage in 2018, and the overall output value is expected to rise further, driving the proportion of IC manufacturing to 28.48% in 2018.
